Sweet Caroline Chords & Guitar Lesson

Welcome to my Sweet Caroline guitar chords and lyrics chart by Neil Diamond. As someone who’s from Boston, (yes my ideas have r’s on the end of them), my students were surprised I hadn’t done this one earlier.

I will admin whole heartedly that I am not a big Red Sox fan myself. I hope I didn’t lose too many points with the New England die hards. 😉

To make this song a bit easier, we will be using a capo on the 4th fret of the guitar to eliminate some barre chords. The below strumming patterns can be played with a swung feel to sound more like the sond.

Sweet Caroline Guitar Chords:

Sweet Caroline Strumming Patterns:

Strumming:
1 + 2 + 3 + 4+
D   D   D U DU

Strumming Syncopated:
1 + 2 + 3 + 4+
D   D      U DU

There is a walkdown in the chorus but your chord changes aren’t fast enough, two measure of D will work perfectly fine.
