Everybody Hurts Chords & Guitar Lesson

Welcome to my Everybody Hurts chords and guitar lesson. This a great song by REM and it is a great way to really working on picking individual strings or even to start trying some fingerpicking.

You can play the chords using standard 6 string, 5 string and 4 string arpeggios. I teach about these in my 7 Level Guitar System along basic fingerpicking skills.

Everybody Hurts Strumming Patterns:

Picking:

The best way to go about playing this song it to use 4-string, 5-string and 6-
string arpeggios in a 6/8 time pattern. I would maintain using the bass note
followed be strings 3 2 1 2 3 with the exception of the bridge where you
could use Bass 4 3 2 3 4

Below you can see some examples using the chords of the verse and the chords of the chorus.
