Welcome to my Californication chord chart by Red Hot Chili Peppers. The Red Hot Chili Peppers have some really super technical guitar songs, but this one actually isn’t too bad for beginner guitar players.
You can choose to do a little picking if you’d like over the Am and F chords, or you can just strum the chords once if picking isn’t your thing or up to speed. We do have a hammer-on and a pull-off in this intro which has to technicality, but if a beginner playing on and electric guitar, this can be achieved with a little bit of practice.
Or if you want to leave out the hammer-on and pull-off, don’t play them and only play the first four notes for the Am chord. We can always make things easier in the guitar!
