A Million Dreams Chords & Guitar Lesson

Welcome to my A Million Dreams Chord Chart by Pink from the movie The Greatest Showman. Pink is by far one of my my favorite singers. The power she has is phenomenal.

This is a great song for beginners because it’s all of my favorite beginner guitar chords - G, D, Em, C. Except in the bridge, we change keys so we get some trickier chords. But the rest of it is very nice and simple.

Now in the chart, you are going to see the D/F# chord (pictured below) which pops in and if you are familiar with how to play that, go right ahead and throw that in. My guitar teacher always yelled at me for playing the bass note with my thumb, but I always found that the most comfortable, so that’s how I go about it.

A Million Dreams Strumming Patterns:

Most of the song is pretty straight forward. Lots of down and up strums using only the lower notes of the chord. So these are very short strums, highly the bass notes. Once we jump into the Chorus, the songs ‘slows’ down and opens up. So we are going to transition to cut time with our counting. Different tempo, but same overall timing. So while the faster strumming is counted at about 148bpm, the chorus is counted at 74bpm. I need, fun huh?

There is some 16th notes variations and flurries in the chorus if you listen for them, but the ‘crazier’ strumming pattern below should suffice as an overall pattern. It’s one of my favorite strumming patterns to use for parts like this.

If you want to learn more about 16th note strumming and improve on your playing? Check out Lauren’s Guitar Course.

Most Strumming:
1 +  2+  3+ 4+

If you into finger picking, you could use block picking for this part as well.

Chorus Strumming Crazier:
