Fingerpicking for Beginners - Pluck Technique

In this fingerpicking lesson we are going to be talking about the pluck technique which is one of the main techniques featured in the song Blackbird by the Beatles.

The pluck technique is when you play two or more notes at the same time using different fingers. In this lesson, we will be focusing on two notes and two fingers.

Lesson #4: Alternating Bass Lines & The Pluck Technique

This video lesson is broken into two parts. First, I will be showing you have to play an alternating bass pattern over the chords C, G and Fmaj7. This is a pattern that can be used over any song written in 4/4 time (4 beats for measures).

Secondly, I will be talking about the pluck technique and how you can start synchronizing your fingers to work together.

Take your time when practicing these patterns and techniques. With anything, start with a single chord and then build your way up to chord progressions.

Once you have conquered this lesson, move on to the next lesson where I’m going to show you how to add notes around the pluck patterns as well as how to add walkdowns into your playing.
